Anna Marie D’Souza joins us as an Assistant Psychologist

We’re pleased to announce that Anna Marie D’Souza has joined the Psychology department at Shrewsbury Court Independent Hospital as an Assistant Psychologist. Anna Marie has worked within our hospital for almost two years now, starting as a Therapy Coordinator and then transiting into an Occupational Therapy Assistant for the last year within the hustle and bustle of our OT department.

Anna Marie has seven years of experience within the Health Care and Educational Sector, specialising in early onset of Mental Health and Learning Disabilities. Anna Marie has worked with people across the age range from pre-school children to adults, providing one-to-one and group interventions, implementing mindfulness, and building confidence through daily activities such as cooking, socialising, and preparing for the next step from rehabilitation.

Anna Marie’s area of interest is alcohol and substance misuse, and the impact of sudden negative changes that can impact on someone’s mental wellbeing, such as family break-downs. She aims to provide the support our patients need in how best to overcome them.

Anna Marie commented, “I am looking forward to supporting our patients from a different perspective, helping them in developing positively and confidently to the point where they have been integrated back into society. I am also looking forward to continually working in collaboration with a supportive Multi-Disciplinary Team as I embark on my own journey within the Psychology Team”.
